The production version of the Mitsubishi DST concept from last year rides on a FWD platform derived <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2023\/08\/mitsubishi-xforce-debuts-as-a-compact-suv-focused-in-asean-markets\/\">from the smaller Xforce<\/a>. However, it gets a more potent turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 161 hp (120 kW \/ 163 PS) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque.<\/p>\n<p>While the overall look may remind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/07\/this-could-be-the-new-mitsubishi-pajero-but-can-you-guess-what-lies-underneath\/\">some of the camouflaged Pajero prototypes seen recently,<\/a> the Destinator follows its own path. Based on last year&rsquo;s DST concept, it rides on a front-wheel-drive platform shared with the smaller Xforce. Still, the comfort-tuned suspension, the five available drive modes, and the generous ground clearance make the Destinator suitable for the rough roads and harsh weather conditions of the target markets. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">From the outside, the Destinator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2024\/10\/mitsubishi-dst-concept-previews-a-seven-seater-suv-with-rugged-looks-for-southeast-asia\/\">stays true to the original concept<\/a> with a commanding grille, aggressive LEDs, and a sculpted bodywork. Still, some details have been toned down for production, including the slightly redesigned bumpers and lightning units, as well as the conventional mirrors and thicker pillars. Mitsubishi hasn&rsquo;t disclosed the exact cargo volume, though with all seats upright, space appears quite limited. Folding the second and third rows flat, however, opens up a sizable load area for hauling gear or luggage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cabin Tech and Features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Compared to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/Mitsubishi-Concepts\">concept<\/a>, the digital cockpit feels a bit more utilitarian. It includes a 12.3-inch infotainment display and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, both set in a glossy black frame. The overall layout is reminiscent of the Xforce, though the dashboard and center console have been modestly redesigned. Additional rollouts are planned across ASEAN countries including Vietnam and the Philippines, along with broader availability in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/asia\/\">South Asia<\/a>, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
